Ipanema: Gisele Bündchen Seeds Collection

“I love the design. They are simple, yet elegant – good for normal wear, and even when you want to dress up a bit. The sandals are VERY comfy and VERY durable. Usually shoes and sandals wear out easily because the straps break easily, or the soles get worn out; however, the designs of the Ipanema sandals were made in such a way that the straps reach all the way to the bottom of the shoe so you’re sure they won’t break, or will be pulled out easily. The soles are easy on the feet and don’t wear out because they’re made of plastic, and according to them, the sandals are made of recycled materials so production produces as little waste as they can. They even mentioned later on that they have a pond in the center, and the water from the pond is the same as the water they use in production – it gets recycled. It is that environment friendly! Amazing!”

It’s been quite a while since I’ve gone to a blogger event. I came straight from school to the Fort to attend this blogger event in place of my sister who still had class. My mom and I got a bit lost since we’re not really “Boni People”, but after asking some guards at The Strip, we somehow found our way to Le Soufflé, 30 minutes earlier than the said time. Good thing it wasn’t traffic!

Le Soufflé looked so fancy to me, inside and out! They had one of those red carpet entrances, and I could imagine a limo passing through the road, and paparazzi trying to get closer to the barrier, and all that jazz.

My mom and I registered at the desk where m2comms gave us well-made press kits and name tags, I must say! As a student studying design, I was satisfied with press kit because they really took the effort. It was environment friendly too! The press kit was placed inside a bag made of recycled materials. (Those are “in” now a days. I always see stores using these. :) ) Afterwards, we took a picture outside where they had some of the Ipanema sandals displayed outside. I also loved their stand, and the model, Gisele Bündchen, is just so sexy~! She appears in a Get a Mac ad! She’s a Home Video XD

We entered the private area, and boy was I excited! The area was a bit small with this fashion ramp in the middle. However, on top of the table was an ornate with the collection! It looked so pretty and shiny under the spotlight, everyone just had to take a lot of shots of it. Again, very well prepared! Mom and I then went to the redemption booth where the collection was and I just wanted to take all of them home!

I love the design. Amazing!

Afterwards, bloggers started coming in so we took our places and waited for the event to start. I met some of mom’s friends, all who were very welcoming, and I didn’t feel out of place the whole night! We were called to the buffet where they served seafood and cakes! Yumyum! I want more Cremé Brulee now!

After that delicious dinner, the event started with the manager talking about the project. This collection was designed Gisele Büdchen, a Victorian Secret model. Ipanema also wishes to be environment friendly, so they’re trying to promote this collection which proceeds will be used for Haribon Foundation, in partnership with ELRO Commercial and Industrial Corporation, for the Philippine Rainforests. This is part of Haribon Foundation’s awareness campaign called “ROAD to 2020″. (Rainforestation Organizations and Advocates) ELRO is in charge of the Walk the Green Mile.

As I mentioned earlier, Ipanema, all though can’t avoid waste, they make sure that they produce as less waste as possible, and they recycle all their materials.

After this, my favourite part of the event, the Philippine Ballet Theater performed for us. It was very very nice. The dancer’s costumes matched that of the shoes with vines hugging their bodies, and the colors they wore were that of the colors of the sandals. The music they used were of different languages, and they danced using different styles. However, the thing that amazed me the most was that all the female dancers were wearing Ipanema sandals. This really says something! They looked brand new but later one we found out that they had been using the same sandals during their practice! The sandals must be really study for ballet dancers to be able to jump, tiptoe, and whatnot. I was looking at their feet after the performance wherein they stayed on stage to model the sandals – not one of them had those marks you get from the strap. They looked very comfortable in them, and I don’t think they received blisters from it. This is so much Love!

We had pictures by table with ELRO Managing Director Francisco Patxi Elizalde, and later on there was a raffle and they gave out so much stuff! Mom won another one of those recycled bags, but it had a small plastic planting kit as well. There was also another free pair in there so at least my sister has something to take home from the event. It’s very convenient that my mom, my sister, and I all have the same shoe size so we have 3 different pairs here at home and we can just rotate.

Ipanema Stores can be found at SM Department Store, Shoe Salon, Chocolate Clothing COmpany, Red Alert, Landmark, Freeway, Planet Sports, Crossings, Brent and Chloe in Pampanga, Stand and Stride in Cabanatuan, Chimes Davao, 25th Avenue Square Naga, Basix Bacolod and other boutiques nationwide.
